One-Act Event

Open to student playwrights enrolled in Region I colleges and universities.

Short Play(s) Will Be Selected To Be
Produced As A Staged Reading At the 2009
Festival at Fitchburg State College, Fitchburg, MA.
January 27 - January 31.

The selected one act(s) will be cast and rehearsed at the playwright’s school and then brought to festival as a staged reading with a performance slot in one of the festival’s theatres. A response by a KCACTF team will be offered after the reading and will help to guide the playwright towards entering next year’s National Playwriting Program Awards process.

PLAYWRIGHT SELECTED MUST ATTEND FESTIVAL.

Submissions must be received by November 1, 2008

• Submissions must play no longer than 60 minutes and must not already be entered in KC/ACTF FESTIVAL XL. The play should ideally be an early draft and have had no previous productions.



• Submissions must include a letter of nomination from a faculty member; a cover letter agreeing to present a staged reading at Region I Festival 2009; a short biography of the playwright (about 50 words); and the playwright’s phone number and e-mail address.



• Finalist will be notified by December 16, 2008.
