The 2009 Region I Festival will be held at Fitchburg State College,
Fitchburg MA and at the Four Points Sheraton in Leominster, MA
from January 27 to January 31, 2009.
2008 Region 1 Festival Awards
The National Festival will be held in Washington, DC from April
14 – 20, 2008.
Welcome!
Region I of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival
consists of institutions from Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode
Island, Vermont, New Hampshire and Maine. Each year the KCACTF
Region I Festival brings students and faculty together at the
end of January to see some of the area's strongest productions,
participate in workshops, compete in a variety of areas in theatrical
performance, design and production and to celebrate theater in
general.
The goals of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival
are to:
- encourage, recognize, and celebrate the finest and most diverse
work produced in university and college theater programs.
- provide opportunities for participants to develop their theater
skills and insight; achieve professionalism
- improve the quality of college and university theater in America
- encourage colleges and universities to give distinguished
productions of new plays, especially those written by students;
the classics, revitalized or newly conceived; and experimental
works
