Design & Technologies
A major element of our annual festival is the Design & Technologies Exhibition which provides opportunities for students,
faculty and staff to share work from all areas of theater; some realized projects and some 'paper' projects.
There are two levels of competitions for awards, National and Regional. A single project can only be entered in one of these areas.
However, there is no limit on the number of projects you may enter.
National Entry: How to enter
National competitors must enter through the KCACTF national. See
http://www.kcactf.org/
for national registration details.
- When a show is entered as a Participating or an Associate
entry, the student designers are entered through the respondent's
form which is filled out after they come to see the show. The
names of each student designer involved in that show and their
design area should be given to the respondent so they may include
them. There are no additional forms to fill out. The school's
contact or the student contact will be utilized at some point
to ensure they are planning to attend the festival.
- The student must register to attend the Region I festival
and sign up for a time that they will be there to have their
work critiqued by a panel of respondents. They are responsible
for setting up and striking their displays. See festival program
for set up times. http://www.kcactf1.org/festival_info.asp
- It is possible the student will be called back for a second
response within the next day or two following their original
response session.
Regional Entry: How to enter
Regional entries can be a realized production or a class project.
Awards are cash prizes and books, but these entries will not be
eligible for national awards.
